As of noon today another chunk of road wiped out by the November floods is reopening to general traffic!
Minister Rob Fleming announced on the morning of Jan. 24 that the reopening remains on schedule, which the province had announced earlier this month.
The corridor connects Hope to Spences bridge, has been closed since Nov. 14, 2021 due to the extensive flooding and mudslides.
“We all owe a huge debt of gratitude to all of the crews and staff who have put in long hours to make the repairs necessary to reopen Highway 1 through the Fraser Canyon,” he says.
Just like the freshly reopened Highway 3 you should expect delays (up to 2 hours) due to ongoing repairs and reduced lane.
