The tour doesn’t come as a total surprise to fans as ERNEST just released a new album!
Last month ERNEST’s new album titled “NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE” was released.
His new album honors his hometown of Nashville and pays tribute to the community and those who made it the “Music City”. The album features collaborations with some of the biggest names in country music. This includes, Morgan Wallen, Lainey Wilson, Jelly Roll and HARDY.
ERNEST, Morgan Wallen, and HARDY are known to be good friends and a songwriting trio in Nashville. The three country stars often collaborate and write for each other’s albums. The fact that ERNEST had a collaboration with both Wallen and HARDY does not come as a surprise to fans.
He also has a long history with Jelly Roll. The artists talk about their long friendship on their collaboration off of the album. In addition to that ERNEST also had a hand in writing Jelly Roll’s smash hit “Son Of A Sinner”.
The Lainey Wilson collaboration is more unexpected. Their song off the album is actually three decades old. The song was suggested to ERNEST by Nashville songwriter Jessie Jo Dillon. It was originally written by Dillon’s father Dean Dillon who was also a songwriter. ERNEST heard it, fell in love with it and wanted to record it immediately.
When asked why he picked Lainey Wilson to be on the track he said “Ironically, I guess within the same few days, Lainey put that song on hold. She found it in the Sony catalog, and cut it for an Apple Music session. I texted Lainey and said I planned on cutting the song. She called me and was like, ‘I’ll just sing on your record. I’ll do that song with you.’ So it worked out so naturally and beautifully, and it wasn’t written as a duet, but it turns out it’s a great duet.”
