How to Celebrate Gone Country This Year

Hey JR Family!

We know things look a little different this year, but that doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate the good times and (safely) gather for a good cause. That’s right – we’re talking Gone Country!

Twin brothers and Gone Country co-founders Jamie and Chris started the festival after losing their mother to breast cancer.

They wanted to fundraise for cancer research – and what began as a few pub events turned into a backyard BBQ and has grown into a full-blown festival on the Cloverdale Rodeo grounds.

Since the beginning, all of the proceeds from Gone Country have gone towards the cause. To date, they have raised over $3.9-million!

That’s why it’s so important that we keep the spirit of Gone Country alive. This year, we’re suggesting we return to the roots of this festival and throw a good old fashioned backyard BBQ!

Here’s how to celebrate Gone Country 2020 with your own backyard party:

1. Invite friends and family within your social bubble.
Just because we can’t get the whole JR Family together, doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate with those in your social bubble.

2. Dress to impress.
Wear your favourite Gone Country gear or bring supplies to make new T-shirts.

3. Get your grill on.
Fire up the barbecue for hamburgers, hot dogs, wings, corn on the cob, etc.

4. Play yard games.
Nothing gets the party going like a few good yard games – cornhole, bocce, spikeball and more.

5. Listen to 93.7 JR Country!
This weekend, we have a special Gone Country edition of the Weekly Top 10, so be sure to join Barbara Beam on Friday at 10pm, Saturday at 6pm and Sunday at 12pm.

6. Share your photos.
